The National Center for Integrated Studies and Research in Building (CNERIB) is a Public Scientific and Technological Institution (EPST) under the supervision of the Ministry of Housing, Urban Planning, the City and Urban Development (MHUVAT). Established on October 23, 1982, CNERIB was formed through the restructuring of the National Institute for Building Studies and Research (INERBA), founded on September 16, 1978.
Located in Cite El Mokrani, Souidania, Algiers, the Center is responsible for conducting studies and research in the field of building and construction. It is organized into four (04) research divisions—Materials, Structures, Building Physics and Environment, and Geotechnics—and two (02) technical departments: Testing and Measurements, and Scientific and Technical Valorization and Information.
CNERIB develops research projects, participates in national research and technological development programs, and contributes to efforts supporting projects with socio-economic impact. The Center is accredited ISO/IEC 17025 (2017) by the national accreditation body, ALGERAC, for three (03) laboratory tests and is working to expand the scope of its accreditation.
